ANNA-SOFIA KIRSCH SCENOGRAPHY

Anna-Sofia Kirsch studied scenography in Dortmund and then worked as a set design assistant at the National Theatre Mannheim and at the Munich Kammerspiele. In 2018, she created the set for Monteverdi’s oratorio MARIENVESPER in a staging by Calixto Bieito at the National Theatre Mannheim.

 

Since 2020, Anna-Sofia has worked as a freelance set designer, realizing stage designs and scenographic projects at the State Opera Prague, the Opera Bastille in Paris, the Zurich Opera, Opera Rome, the National Theatre Mannheim and the BUGA23.  

 

Together with stage director Victoria Stevens, she was awarded the 2nd Prize at the European Opera Directing Prize 2022 (Opera Europa/ Camerata Nuova) and as a result designed the set for THE HOUSE OF USHER at Staatsoper Hannover. In 2024, Anna-Sofia was nominated for the International Opera Award as "Designer of the Year".
