VITA

Anna-Sofia Kirsch studied Scenography in Dortmund. Thereafter, she was engaged as a set design assistant at the Munich Kammerspiele and the Nationaltheater Mannheim, where she worked with designers like Anna Viebrock and Herbert Murauer. In 2018, she created the set for Monteverdi’s oratorio MARIENVESPER in a staging by Calixto Bieito at the NTM. 

Since 2021, Anna-Sofia has worked as a freelance set designer, realizing stage designs and scenographic projects at the State Oper Prague, Nationaltheater Mannheim and the BUGA23. She is collaborating with stage directors including Calixto Bieito and Krystian Lada.  Together with stage director Victoria Stevens, she was awarded the 2nd Prize at the European Opera Directing Prize 2022 (Opera Europa/ Camerata Nuova) and as a result designed the set for THE HOUSE OF USHER at Staatsoper Hannover.

 

Upcoming projects include set ​designs for the Opera Paris and Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.
